Collective Worship is an integral part of life at Pulham. We celebrate Collective Worship every day and have developed the way we deliver Collective Worship quite extensively in response to children’s comments. The purpose of worship in our school is to praise God through the teachings of Jesus. We use Christian Values for Life as a basis for Collective Worship and the values are embedded in the ethos of the school and in the day to day life of the school. Half termly Values for Life themes have been developed with the Cluster; these are used by all schools in the Cluster. The Christian values are displayed in the school corridor.
Collective Worship is delivered by different members of the school staff, by our Open the Book team and by groups of pupils. All staff are welcome to attend Collective Worship and parents are invited to attend special services throughout the year and parents of all classes are invited to our Friday Celebration Collective Worship.
Children are involved in and lead Collective Worship. Year 6 Ambassadors lead Collective Worship with their circle group every week. Children volunteer to lead Collective Worship themselves and plan and lead sessions. Pupils are involved in Community acts of Collective Worship themselves through taking part in Open the Book. Pupils also organize and run our special services which take part in the churches in Pulham Market and Pulham St Mary. Different Christian festivals are celebrated throughout the year – Harvest Festival, Remembrance Sunday, Christmas and Easter.
