Creative Learning Without Limits

Mrs Gascoyne would like to welcome you all to Penguins class.

Dear Parents and Carers

The Penguins have had a fantastic week and learnt lots of new routines and rules. They are remembering the tidy up rules; home time spaces and carpet spaces.

Twiggle introduced the class rules which the children have been remembering. There will be a copy of these in their book bag so please talk to your child about them and what they mean.

They have enjoyed our outside times on the field and playground. They are getting good at freezing when they hear the whistle. Perhaps you could play some stop/start games at home.

Next week we will be sorting collections of objects into different sets. Please could your child bring in any Autumnal seeds/leaves so we can create a seasonal collection. We will then use these as a stimulus for sorting and discussing different criteria.

They have enjoyed having their lunch at school in the hall and remember that they will finish at 3pm next week. If anyone finds their child is extremely tired or finding full time tricky then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Unfortunately, this year I am unable to invite you in to school to join a reading workshop. Instead I have made a video explaining how we teach reading at school. There will be sheets in your child’s book bag to support the video. I hope you find it useful and if you require any more information please let me know.

I also include a link to the Read Write Inc website which has some useful parent videos.

Have a lovely weekend.
